Tha Afghanistan distraction continues

Armed men have killed the head of an Iraqi police unit in the northern city of Kirkuk while five US marines have died in a roadside bomb blast.

This situation will not get any better. Up until recently I've assumed that the U.S. would have been able to sort their permanent bases in Iraq, eventually.

It seems likely that this rate of death will continue, which not even the 'greyed-out' media coverage of Iraq can continue to hide from the American public.

Remember when Bush was in chest beating mode?

You know, soon after it was acknowledged that his Aircraft Carrier flight deck "Mission Accomplished" call was DEAD WRONG.

"Bring 'em on." He swaggered.
